Samsung Galaxy tablet review VS iPad

Conclusion  June 30, 2017 – 06:20 am

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 vs. Apple iPad AirThe Apple iPad Air has a much higher screen resolution and better performance, two of the most important aspects of any tablet. While the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 has longer battery life and a microSD card slot, these are not enough to overcome the iPad’s advantages.

So Apple’s tablet is undoubtedly the better option… if cost is ignored.

Value

The version of the Tab A 9.7 with 16GB of storage is $299, while the version of the iPad Air with the same amount of internal storage is $399, a $100 advantage for the Samsung model. The Tab A 9.7 32GB is $399, and the iPad Air 32GB is $449, a $50 advantage for Samsung.

We still feel the iPad Air is a better value, but understand that those on a very tight budget are more likely to go for the Galaxy Tab A 9.7.

iPad Air Pros:

  • Small and light
  • Beautiful display
  • Good performance
  • Long battery life

Galaxy Tab A Pros:

  • Professional look
  • Solidly built
