While the rest of the world went to bigger and bigger screens, Apple steadfastly refused to follow suit, sticking with a 4in screen for its iPhone 5S. In fact, it's even gone back to the 4in form factor with its new iPhone SE. However, for those that want something a little bigger, or feel like Apple's lagging behind the times, the iPhone 6 (and the newer iPhone 6S) is here to fill the gap.

This phone has a 4.7in screen, but its overall footprint isn't really that much bigger than the 5S or SE. It still slips easily into your pocket, but you've now got a lot more screen real estate to prod, making it more practical to use and better for watching videos on during your daily commute. Of course, for anyone that wants something a little bigger, there's the iPhone 6 Plus.

Since it first came out, the operating system has now been upgraded to iOS 9.3, which includes the new Night Shift mode that turns whites into yellows to make reading easier on the eyes in low light, and it also features password-protected Notes - something we've been hankering after for ages. Build quality

The one area that Apple hasn't changed for the iPhone 6 is build quality, and this model is the best yet. Sticking to its usual design regime, the iPhone 6 uses a completely new design. Gone are the square edges of the iPhone 5S, replaced with a curvier, more rounded body. Given the extra size of the phone, the rounded edges don't just look great, they make the phone easier to hold and we've not once dropped our handset by mistake.
