iPhone 7: When does it go on sale, is it sold out, and what are the best deals? June 9, 2019 – 02:58 am

Apple's stores open at 8am across the UK on Friday September 16, which is normally the earliest time that customers can buy the device.

Will I actually be able to buy one?

You will not be able to buy an iPhone 7 Plus in any colour or the iPhone 7 in jet black when Apple's stores open tomorrow, as these models sold out online during the pre-order period. You may, however, be able to get one of the sold out models from different retailers.

Apple issued the following statement about which phones will be available on Friday:

Beginning Friday, limited quantities of iPhone 7 in silver, gold, rose gold, and black will be available for walk-in customers at Apple retail stores.

During the online pre-order period, initial quantities of iPhone 7 Plus in all finishes and iPhone 7 in jet black sold out and will not be available for walk-in customers. Availability at partner locations for all finishes may vary and we recommend checking directly with them.

Customers can continue to order all models in all colors on apple.com. We sincerely appreciate our customers’ patience as we work hard to get the new iPhone into the hands of everyone who wants one as quickly as possible.

What are the best deals?

On top of the carrier deals, Apple has introduced an upgrade programme in the UK this year that lets you pay a monthly fee to get a new iPhone every year.

Buy up front

The simplest way to get an iPhone is to buy an unlocked one directly from Apple. The entry-level 32GB iPhone 7 costs £599.

Typically, new iPhones sell out quickly both online and in store, and buying one in the first month or so is limited by supply.
